How to search for shares on Superhero
Searching for a specific share
If you’ve already got a specific security in mind that you’d like to invest in, you can easily find it by using Superhero’s search function.
Placing a trade
To buy or sell shares you own, you may do so by clicking on the stock on your Superhero Dashboard. For stocks you don't own or follow, you may use the search function.Â
nIf you've placed a Limit Order, it will be listed under Pending Orders in your Dashboard until it executes. These orders can remain pending for up to 30 days. If the order hasn't been completed within this period, it will expire and you would have to make a new Limit Order. You have the option to cancel Pending Orders at any time before they are executed.
Minimum trade orders and order types
ASX-listed securities
Superhero requires a minimum trade order of A$10 for ASX-listed securities, including brokerage.Â
Fractional shares trading is not available for Australian shares. This means that you will need to at least invest the price of one whole share you wish to trade.Â
For example, if you want to invest in a company with a share price of A$200, you will need to invest at least A$200 to purchase one share.
U.S. securities
Superhero has a A$100 minimum transfer from AUD to USD and a US$10 minimum trade size for U.S. securities. Do note that a FX Transfer Fee applies.
Superhero allows the trading of fractional shares for U.S. securities, which means you do not have to trade whole shares. You may simply specify a dollar amount you wish to trade and purchase a fraction of a share – as much as your investment can purchase.
For example, investing US$50 into a company that has a share price of US$500 means you would receive 0.1 or 1/10 of its share.
Market and Limit Orders
Superhero provides both limit and market order options for Australian and U.S. trades.
If you simply wish to invest in a stock at the market price, this is a Market Order. If you wish to specify the price at which you are willing to buy or sell a stock, this is a Limit Order.Â
Both types of orders are available on the Superhero platform.
